San Gregorio OF BRIGANTS AND SOURCES

My support in this project was to research and coordinate the abilities and the energies of the participating actors, optimizing them with a view to enhancement and sustainability. I collected various contributions in a project that looks at the development of internal areas, passing through the communities, managing to create a format for a replicable leading project.

During the first development phase, we realized many interventions, as the reactivation of the walkway network, the soft restoration of the village, the realization of a website and an interactive info point, the awarding to the fountain as an information and aggregation point (thanks to the addition of an oven and barbecue), the preparation of tables containing historical information available both for blind and partially-sighted people, the activation of a weather station and webcam. All these actions were enabled by:

– the municipality of Acquasanta Terme, attentive and available to support initiatives aimed at reintroducing the territory and supporting the communities

– GAL Piceno, which has always been committed to the regeneration of places and social composition of inland areas. “The structural intervention of recovery, restoration and redevelopment of the Fountain and the information area at the entrance of the Borgo di San Gregorio di Acquasanta Terme, the creation of an interactive Info Point and a Botanical area in order to increase accessibility to the historical and natural cultural heritage, for tourists, hikers and residents “

– the Antiche Vie Mulattiere for the restoration of the paths that connect the village to the surrounding hamlets in order to include it in the hiking network with national standard. It paid attention to the blind and partially-sighted people, in fact, the “use of one of the paths and the Borgo di San Gregorio has been extended to a wider audience, in an inclusive logic capable of offering the experience even to people with visual disabilities.”

– the communities, deeply in love with their mountains, aware of the added value that redevelopment projects represent. They symbolize connection and heritage for future generations.
